The unruly beast, fiercely preparing itself for my daring mount.

So this one time, I went to Africa and rode a Camel. No big deal...
While I was in Morocco, my camera was low on batteries so to conserve I wasn't using it as much for part of one day. That happened to be during our visit to Tangiers. On our way up the mountain to visit that incredible lighthouse, we got to ride camels, but I left my camera on our bus, so my friend Kim took pictures for me. Just last week, she put them on a CD for me, so now, a few months after the fact, I can share.

I appear as though I'm doing a half-decent job of riding in this picture, but in actuality, I felt constantly on the brink of falling off. I was not really afraid, because camels are very goofy animals to ride, and I'm a clumsy fool, so by relating to each other I felt like we would make it through.
At this place, there were guys with "I heart Morocco" t-shirts and shitty jewelry trying to hustle everyone the entire time we were there. I was asked by the same gentlemen three times to name a price for his goods. I was still recovering from the rug negotiation incident, so I just ignored him.

Ah, the dismount. Arguably the most fun, because the camel has to kneel for you to get down. Therefore, the guys just hit them until they suddenly jerk forward onto their front knees (what you're seeing above), then jerk you backwards when their hind legs come down. It was kind of like riding a mechanical bull.
